SDGA Two Woman Championship

DIVISION DETAILS: 

* CHAMPIONSHIP:  White Tees (approx 5,700 yards), all ages eligible.  Event played at Gross.

* OPEN DIVISION:  Gold Tees (approx 5,300 yards), all ages eligible.  Event played at Gross, NET Champion also recognized.

* SENIOR DIVISION: Red Tees (approx 5,000 yards), both players must be 50 year of age or older.  Event played at Gross, NET Champion also recognized.

ELIGIBILITY POLICY

At the time of registration for a championship, a player must have an active GHIN number on file at a member golf club of the South Dakota Golf Association that offers the GHIN Service to all its members;  AND

At the time of registration for a championship, a player must have posted a minimum of five (5) 18-hole scores in the previous 12 months at the South Dakota golf club where their GHIN number is active.

100-team field will be selected as follows (if qualified applicant received by deadline): (A) Past SDGA Two-Woman champions since 2000; (B) Low 70 (and ties) teams by gross score from the previous years event (C) Through an 18-hole four-ball stroke play qualifying round from the remaining pool of entrants held one day prior to the competition at BROOKINGS COUNTRY CLUB, beginning at 8 a.m. If total number of entries does not exceed 100, no qualifying round will be conducted. Entire field will compete at gross and championship will be flighted based on team combined handicap index. Overall champion will be team with lowest 36-hole score in each Division, regardless of flight.

Day 1, Four-Ball; Day 2, SDGA Chapman.

SDGA CHAPMAN FORMAT

  • Both players hit a tee shot on each hole (Par 3’s, 4’s & 5’s). Partner’s hit each other’s ball for their second shot. For the third shot, a ball is selected by the team to be played for the remainder of the hole. If the second shot played by player A is chosen, player B will play the third shot. The team alternates shots until the ball is holed.

SDGA Amateur Championship

ELIGIBILITY POLICY

At the time of registration for a championship, a player must have an active GHIN number on file at a member golf club of the South Dakota Golf Association that offers the GHIN Service to all its members;  AND

At the time of registration for a championship, a player must have posted a minimum of five (5) 18-hole scores in the previous 12 months at the South Dakota golf club where their GHIN number is active.

Women’s Amateur Championship

The 144-player field will be selected as follows (if qualified applicant received by deadline):  (A) Past SDGA individual champions since 2000; (B) The low 16 scorers from 2020 Championship; (C) Through an 18-hole qualifying round from the remaining pool of entrants held  at Moccasin Creek CC the day prior to competition. If total number of entries received does not exceed 144, no qualifying round will be conducted, and all qualified applications will be accepted. Championship is flighted after 36 holes. Size of field determines number of flights with minimum of 8 players in a flight.

Men’s Amateur Championship   

The 144-player field will be selected as follows (if qualified applicant received by deadline):  (A) Past SDGA Men’s Amateur champions from 2000-2021; (B) Low 50 finishers and ties from 2021 Men’s Amateur Championship; (C) Top 10 finishers and ties from 2019 Two-Man Championship regardless of flight; (D) Top 16 finishers from 2019 Men’s Match Play Championship; (E) Top 10 finishers and ties from 2021 Men’s Mid-Amateur and 2020 Men’s Senior championships regardless of flight; (F) 2020 SDGA Junior and Adult-Junior champions; (G) 2020 SoDak Cup team members; (H) Top 5 finishers and ties from 2020 Mid-Amateur Two-Man Championship regardless of flight; (I) Top 3 finishers and ties from 2021 Senior Two-Man Championship regardless of flight; (J) Qualifiers and alternates from 2020 local qualifying for U.S. Open and  2020 U.S. Amateur championships; (K) 2020 Class AA and Class A boys high school golf individual champions and 2020 and 2021 Class B boys high school individual champion. The SDGA reserves the right to offer a limited number of special exemptions to players not meeting any of the above criteria. All other entrants will participate in an 18-hole qualifying round at Moccasin Creek CC the day before competition beginning at 8 a.m. if the total number of entries exceeds 144. If the total number of entries does not exceed 144, there will be no qualifying round and all qualified applicants will be accepted. Players play in the same groupings the first two days and the field is flighted after Day 2 scores with low 20 and ties making up the Championship Flight.

SDGA Men’s Senior/Pre-Senior Championship

PRE-SENIOR CHAMPIONSHIP

All players must be between 40 and 54 years of age on the first day of competition.  The 120 player field is selected as follows (if qualified applicant received by deadline):  (A) Past Pre-Senior or Mid-Am champions since 2000; (B) Low 80 scorers from the 2021 championship; (C) Through an 18-hole qualifying round from the remaining pool of entrants held the day prior to competition at Arrowhead beginning at 8 a.m. the day prior to competition. If total number of entries received does not exceed 120, no qualifying event will be held.

SENIOR CHAMPIONSHIP INFORMATION:

All players must be at least 55 years of age by the first day of competition.  The 144-player field is selected as follows (if qualified applicant received by deadline):  (A) Past Senior champions since 2001; (B) Low 80 scorers from the 2021 championship; (C) 70-over champion from 2021 Championship; (D) Through an 18-hole qualifying round from the remaining pool of entrants held  at Arrowhead beginning at 8 a.m the day prior to competition. If total number of entries received does not exceed 144, no qualifying event will be held.

 

DIVISION INFORMATION:

Championship Division – Players will play a golf course from the longest set of tees (6200-6500 yards) and the overall SDGA Senior Champion will come from this division.

Rushmore Division – Players will play a golf course set up between 5700 and 5900 yards.

Oahe Division – Players will play a golf course set up between 5000 and 5700 yards.

70 + Division – Players who want to play for the 70+ Championship will play from the Rushmore tees.

All divisions will be pre-flighted  by handicap index.

Rushmore and Oahe Divisions – Plaques will be awarded to the overall champion and runner-up. 70+ Champion will receive a trophy.

SDGA MID-AM Two-Man

At the time of registration for a championship, a player must have an active GHIN number on file at a member golf club of the South Dakota Golf Association that offers the GHIN Service to all its members;  AND .

At the time of registration for a championship, a player must have posted a minimum of five (5) 18-hole scores in the previous 12 months at the South Dakota golf club where their GHIN number is active.

MID-AM CHAMPIONSHIP – Both players must be at least 25 years of age on the first day of the event.

Day 1 – Four-Ball @ Elmwood GC /  Day 2 – SDGA Chapman @ WIllow Run GC

Healing Heroes

• All proceeds go to heal our nation’s heroes at Sacred Mountain Retreat Center.

• Each team of 4 must have at least one Veteran, First Responder or Gold Star Family member.

• Register early, as there are a limited number of team spots available.

• We may be able to pair you with a qualifying team member if needed.

Play Yellow CMN

Friday, September 10. Registration 7:00 a.m. Shotgun Start 8:00 a.m.
– 18-hole, four-person scramble
– 3 flights with prizes for 1st, 2nd and 3rd place teams
– Flag prize contest on every hole
– Hole-in-one contest
– Additional tournament games will be available for on-site fees
$150 per player, which includes green fees, cart and luncheon. Lunch and awards following the tournament.
